FAQ

Questions about Bail bonds services and process.

Am I eligible for Bail?

As long as you are not considered a danger to the community, or a flight risk, the judge is likely to set a bail. The amount of you bail will be based on your charges, and prior arrest history.

What does a Bail Bondsman do?

A Bail Bonds Service – like Guardian Bail Bonds – takes only a percentage of the total bail set as payment for paying your bail. They contract with the court to be responsible for the funds in the case that the defendant does not show up for their court date.

How Does Bail Work?

Once your bail is set, you have 3 options:

1. Pay the full amount of your bail. This will be returned to you once your case is complete.

2. Hire the services of a Bail Bondsman who will pay the amount for you, and charge a fee that is generally a percentage of the total amount.

3. Do not pay the bail, and remain in custody until your court date.

What is "Failure to Appear"?

Failure to appear is not appearring for your court appointed hearring.

The penalty for failure to appear is a fine, imprisonment, or both.
